Red Friday Drug Awareness Day
The purpose of this exercise was to raise awareness on drugs, to show that you are either infected or affected by this pandemic the country is facing.
ALCOHOL and Drug Concern (ADC) in West Turffontein recently hosted a Red Friday Drug Awareness Day at high schools in the South.
The purpose of this exercise was to raise awareness on drugs, and to prove that people are affected by this scourge the country is facing.
Charlene Dearling from ADC said they are working in schools because drugs are a serious problem there, and as a lifestyle choice in society as a whole, drugs are causing great societal problems. “We will be doing another Red Friday in term two, catering for all the primary schools in the South and West Rand,” she said.
A leadership workshop will also be held on Friday, April 22, where two members of the Representative Council of Learners (RCL) from each school will participate in the Red Friday.
