OVER the weekend of May 20 to May 22, the Johannesburg SAPS Cluster arrested 189 suspects for crimes ranging from common assault, assault GBH, attempted murder, business robbery and common robbery to driving under the influence, fraud, hit and run, kidnapping, malicious damage to property, possession of dagga/drugs, possession of a dangerous weapon and robbery with a weapon.
On Friday, May 20, there was an operation to nab drivers driving under the influence in Johannesburg Central (Bree and Mooi streets). The operation started at 22:00 and ended at about 02:00. SAPS together with JMPD members arrested 20 suspects for driving under the influence.
