Learn from these youths

"We all can work together towards a cleaner city,” said Sylvia Glade.

FOUR youngsters, Shaun Glade, Delano Witbooi, Dean Mbhele and Orebotse Masango from Rewlatch Primary School spent their weekend voluntarily cleaning around their school.

On Saturday, July 23, these good citizens of the South made sure the school surrounds were clean. However, they were let down by some of the residents who dumped building rubble a day after they had cleaned.

Sylvia Glade, a parent, said she was very disappointed to see the dumped building rubble. “These four youngsters spent five hours on Saturday cleaning around their school. It is very disappointing to see the dumped building rubble outside the school. Do communities not take pride in themselves?

“This is so demotivating to the youngsters. Residents in Victoria Street, Rewlatch watched us cleaning on Saturday. No one offered to help. We all can work together towards a cleaner city,” she said.
