Water supply still delayed after Eikenhof Pump Station power restored
Johannesburg Water warns residents in affected areas of delayed water supply as pumping capacity is gradually restored.
Johannesburg Water has confirmed that power supply to Rand Water’s Eikenhof Pump Station has been restored and pumping resumed on August 24.
According to an update issued by Joburg Water, residents are advised that pumping capacity was progressively increased at around to around 60% and then to above 80% from approximately 04:30.
Despite the progressive restoration, Johannesburg Water says pumping is not yet at full capacity.
Customers will therefore experience a delayed impact on water supply due to the period during which there was no pumping from the Eikenhof Pump Station.
Johannesburg Water systems that may be affected include: Aeroton, Commando System, which includes Eagles Nest, Naturena, Lenasia and surrounding areas.
The utility said it will continue to monitor the affected systems and will provide further updates as the situation progresses.
