TWO suspects, between the ages of 26 and 37, were arrested for attempted robbery with a firearm.
According to the Mondeor SAPS communications officer, Constable Elizabeth Mnguni, it is alleged that a female victim was walking on Klipview Road on Wednesday, July 27, when she was approached by the suspects.
The men pointed a firearm at her and demanded that she give them her cellphone.
“The victim retaliated by spraying the suspects with pepper spray,” said Mnguni.
A community member, who was driving past, came to the woman’s assistance and members of the CPF assisted with searching for the two suspects and apprehending them.
“Suspects were detained at Mondeor SAPS and appeared in the Johannesburg Magistrate Court on July 29,” said Mnguni.
