Fun fundraiser
After each teacher’s segment, there was a lucky draw with gifts which were kindly donated by Spar Superstores.
The Fitness League held a fun fund-raiser for Nelson Mandela Day with a 67-minute class at Roosevelt Park Recreation Centre.
The entrance fee was R40 or more and a donation of a children’s book for a Child Literacy Charity. There was a good turn-out of nearly 50 women and six of the league teachers participated doing low impact, floor work, dance and stretches to finish.
After each teacher’s segment, there was a lucky draw with gifts which were kindly donated by Spar Superstores. After the women had been put through their paces, it was time for tea and to enjoy all the delicious varieties of cakes and savouries and the draw for the leisure hamper, which was won by a Roosevelt member.
A total of R3 070 was raised, plus lots of children’s books.
