A score of Catholics celebrate the Lady of Fatima

The congregation, including all guests and priests, were entertained by various gifted choirs, the heralds of gospel and the knights of da gama, from areas as far as Soweto.

NUMEROUS Catholics met at St Anthony Portuguese Church in Crown Mines, Johannesburg, to celebrate the Grand Pilgrimage of the Lady of Fatima, on Sunday, October 16.

The congregation, including all guests and priests, were entertained by various gifted choirs, the Heralds of Gospel and the Knights of Da Gama, from areas as far as Soweto.

At 14:00, the congregation turned on their hazard lights and all drove together to Linksfield Shopping Centre in Edenvale, with the herald of Gospel playing good music, and bikers and traffic police officers as their escort.

The church’s Mrs Alexandra Da Silva said God had spoken to the congregation that a sanctuary needs to be built in the Linksfield area. “We are simply here to land our Lady of Fatima where the future sanctuary will be built. A house for many souls. We are here to glorify the Son through the mother [Mary],” she said.

The congregation sang and prayed in celebration of the landing of the Lady of Fatima at the open ground in Linksfield.
