Turffontein Primary singled out for Philadelphia authors’ attention

One of the delegates, Marcus Y Rosier told the learners that they need to focus on education because they are already winners.

UNITED States of America delegates together with the author Darren August – who wrote the bestselling book A Teacher Changed My Life – donated books to Turffontein Primary’s Grade R learners on their graduation day on Monday, November 21.

Darren has recently launched his new children’s book series, My Seed of Greatness, of which he donated copies to all of the school’s Grade R graduates.

“I challenged Nehemiah Davis to match my donation of books; and also invited him to attend the 2016 graduation for the school with me. The delegation from the USA is all friends and associates of mine, who do similar work in the States. The founder of The Nehemiah Davis Foundation has donated some of his books: The Little Boy Who Could and The Little Girl Who Could. He’s also an award winning author, entrepreneur and philanthropist from Philadelphia,” explained Darren.

One of the delegates, Marcus Y Rosier, told the learners that they need to focus on education because they’re already winners. Rosier’s the author of the book Win The Day and an entrepreneur based in Philadelphia.

Last year for Mandela Day, Darren donated copies of A Teacher Changed My Life to every teacher at the school – he also approached PPC Cement to sponsor the revamp of three classrooms. They painted the classrooms and supplied new desks and chairs.
