Going all out to assist needy in disaster area
“This is the worst disaster the Southern Cape has seen. We appealed to our residents on Friday morning to donate food, water, clothes, toys, blankets and towels to help fellow countryfolk in need."
IN response to the devastation in Cape Town and Knysna areas, Aspen Hills residents displayed their love and generosity. Over the weekend Aspen showed that great things can be achieved when we all stand together.
“This is the worst disaster the Southern Cape has seen. We made an appeal to our residents on Friday morning to donate food, water, clothes, toys, blankets, towels and other things to our fellow countrymen in need. Arrangements were made for volunteers from Care of the Givers to collect the first donations on June 10 and the response we had was overwhelming. A second collection for Operation Hydrate was completed on Sunday afternoon. In total three truckloads of goods were donated by our community. The warmth and love shown by Aspen residents was incredible. Thank you to our community for the support and individual residents Kaylash Naidoo and Vishal Nana who helped in co-ordinating the effort,” said Andrea Scott, Marketing Aspen Hills.
