IT’S not every day that the education MEC pops into your school to wish you well with your matric exams.
The education MEC Panyaza Lesufi paid Sir John Adamson High School a quick visit to wish all the matrics a spirited good luck.
Lesufi informed the school only a day before that he would arrive at 7.30am on October 24.

He was welcomed by the school and escorted to the hall where the Sir John Adamson matrics were about to write their English home language paper.
Lesufi motivated the learners and told them the importance of attaining a matric.
He wished the learners well and provided inspirational examples to lift their spirits.
Lesufi was applauded by the school principal, Michael Meyers, who thanked him for his much-needed visit.

Admin assistant Trynie Oosthuizen said the school was hoping for a “115 per cent” matric pass rate. The school had only two weeks ago celebrated its 115th birthday.
She said although there were nerves at the news of the MEC’s visit, it was an honour to host him.
She especially appreciated the fact that Lesufi said matric was pivotal in everyone’s life.
