Training and development opportunity for the youth

ARE you aged between 18 and 35 years, unemployed or unskilled?

Believers Care Society (BCS) youth development project aims to equip unemployed and unskilled youth with employable skill and provide the basic life-skills, information and assistance that enables employment.

They are currently enrolling young people on a 12 months full qualification course on PC Technician course on IT, FET: Technical Support- Level 4 with SAQA ID-78964.

This course is funded through the Department of Social Development for skills development and youth employability.

Information Technology has become a second nature to every sphere of career life and key to sustainable economic operations.

This qualification has been formulated such that it reflects the workplace-based needs of the information technology industry as expressed by its stakeholders.

The input has been used to ensure that the qualification provides the learner with accessibility to be employed within the IT industry. People with this qualification have an introductory level of understanding about computer industry concepts and/or are able to work in areas of information technology with little technical complexity. Examples of the areas covered are entry-level hardware, software, electronics and network support, on mainly (but not limited to) desktop and hand-held devices and local area networks.

Classes will start on April 30. Training takes place at the Youth Development Centre in Turffontein. Training will be for the duration of 12 months. Classes are Monday to Thursday, from 9am to 1pm, and 9am to 2pm on Wednesdays.

Youth with a passion for the above course are encouraged to apply now. To qualify, one must be between 17 and 35 years, a resident of South of Johannesburg, matric or equivalent, must be willing to study and to complete training duration. No fees are required and only unemployed and unskilled youth are accepted. Requirements include copy of ID, proof of residence, previous qualification and a short CV.
