MONDEOR SAPS is investigating a case of house robbery that took place on the morning of May 10 at a townhouse complex in Bassonia.
The robbery took place at about 3am. The suspects broke a wall and sliding door to gain entry to the victim’s house.
According to Mondeor SAPS communications officer Captain Nokulanga Dube, it is alleged that the three suspects entered the room of the victim’s child and threatened her to keep quiet.
“The complainant was at home sleeping when she was woken up by her daughter, who informed her that about three suspects entered her room with firearms and threatened her not to scream,” said Dube.
The suspects got away with valuables, including jewellery, television sets and other electrical appliances.
Another townhouse complex in Glenvista was also targeted by the robbers but without success.
Police are urging residents whose homes border velds to take extra care and ensure their perimeter security is working and armed.
