
A SAPS member was fatally shot, and two security staff and two bystanders were wounded, after a cash in transit (CIT) heist in Hillbrow, Johannesburg on Thursday afternoon, June 21.
The CIT vehicle was parked when the suspects attacked and fired shots, escaping with an undisclosed amount of money.

As Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) officers, Johannesburg Flying Squad and SAPS Hillbrow Cluster members chased after the getaway vehicles the suspects began firing shots at the police, with them responding.
So far seven firearms, including rifles and pistols, have been recovered and three motor vehicles found.
It’s believed other suspects are still on the run and police have launched a manhunt.
