Parent helps child arrive safe to school

Miranda told the COURIER that she enjoys walking with her mother and the bond that they have is amazing.

MIRANDA Jiyane (7), a learner from Park Junior Primary in Turffontein, is always accompanied by her mother, Bokile Jiyane, on her way to school.

The learner is currently in Grade Two and ever since she started schooling, her mother takes her to school and fetches her after school. When Bokile is working, she makes sure that she assigns someone to fetch her after school. Bokile motivates her child to be committed when it comes to school, her books and her homework.

“The Turffontein Streets are not safe so am doing my best to keep my child safe. Because motorists are negligent in the streets so I am keeping her safe from all of those things. It’s not easy to wake up every morning and accompany my child but that’s one of the duties of being a caring parent,” said Bokile.

Miranda told the COURIER that she enjoys walking with her mother and the bond that they have is amazing. She does not see her mother as a parent only but as a friend because they share everything together.
