New chapter for Zimbabwe

The COURIER spoke to local Zimbabweans to find out how they feel about the newly elected president.

NEWS that Zanu PF has won the presidential elections on August 2 filled local Zimbabweans with excitement.

The COURIER spoke to local Zimbabweans to find out how they feel about the newly elected president.

Sibongile Masondo: “Change of power is good for our country because we have been living under poor conditions. I hope the new president will not allow his ego to overwhelm him. People voted for him because they believe in his ability and expertise.”

Samson Unai: “We are living in South Africa because opportunities aren’t available back home. Zanu PF should create job opportunities and access to education for all.”

Lindani Ndlovu: “I will go back after a few years because first I need to see how the new president will rule. The country really needs a leader that will put people’s needs first. Emmerson Mnangagwa is the right person, I have no doubt about that.”

Tandai Sharione: “I wish to see my country on top in the African economy. We as the people of Zimbabwe have been waiting for this day, it’s a new dawn for us.”
