Residents advised to be cautious when parking their vehicles

Residents need to be careful when parking their vehicles. SAPS reported that on numerous occasions they have issued a warning to the community/motorists to stop chatting while driving or parking.

BOOYSENS SAPS is warning members of the public to avoid parking on pavements and in driveways to chat with each other because that leaves them vulnerable as possible victims of hijacking or robbery.

SAPS reported that on numerous occasions they have issued a warning to the community/motorists to stop chatting while driving or parking. This warning was issued because there has again been an increase in robberies and hijackings taking place due to this.

The SAPS is appealing to people to rather go into the premises and chat over a cup of tea instead of sitting in their vehicle outside on the pavements because these hijackings take place at any time during the day or night.

Members of the community are warned to be observant when parking their vehicles in the streets. It is also asked that when they are parking, they should check that all doors are locked when using a mobilisation device and that no valuables are left in clear sight.
