THROUGH a tip-off, Moffat View Police recovered stolen goods (rice) in Phillip Street, Rosettenville, on September 12.
At around 3pm, the police received a tip-off of people loading suspected stolen goods into a truck. Upon arrival at the scene, they found a couple of men loading rice into a truck.
Moffat View police spokesperson Captain Jeff Phora said the men who were loading the truck were hired by two Bangladeshi nationals.
“The two were questioned and they identify themselves as buyers of these goods. Preliminary investigation suggests the goods belonged to a truck that was hijacked in Vosloorus earlier this month.
“The suspects, aged 28 and 22, were arrested on charges of suspected stolen goods and will appear in court soon,” he said.
