Heritage celebrated with Ward 57 Councillor

Attendees were all dressed in their cultural dresses. Even Ethiopian delegations came to MLOH to celebrate this monumental day and also dressed in their cultural attire.

MY Lillies of Hope (MLOH), along with Ward 57 Councillor Faeeza Chame, celebrated Heritage Day in a fashionable and stylish way in La Rochelle on September 24.

Attendees were all dressed in their cultural dresses. Even Ethiopian delegations came to MLOH to celebrate this monumental day and also dressed in their cultural attire.

MLOH offered entertainment like cultural group dance, musicians and motivational talks.

Cultural food and drinks were served to attendees. Clr Chame was all smiles as she saw local residents coming together in celebrating Heritage Day.

“Heritage Day is an important public holiday in South Africa as it recognises different aspects of South African culture and encourages South Africans across the spectrum to celebrate their cultural heritage and diversity of their beliefs and different traditions,” said Chame.

The councillor said she believes that events like these will help in uniting residents.
