Rhema Rega Bible Church assists job seekers
Local church helps young people to apply for jobs
RHEMA Rega Bible Church in South Hills is a family church under the leadership of pastor Sakhile Mkwanazi and his wife Palesa. This is one of the churches that are part of the body of churches regulated by renowned pastor Ray McCauley.
The church launched a job centre programme partnering with Lulaway, a youth employment engine, on September 15 in South Hills. The Job Centre is situated at Perfection Barbershop at the South Hills flats.
The idea of the job centre was born through interactions with church members at home-cell services in 2017, which, at the time, was held in Mkwanazi’s living room in Elandspark.
Attendees were asked about their prayer requests and an overwhelming majority responded that they needed jobs. Mkwanazi decided to engage with Lulaway to help young people apply for jobs online.
“The launch was incredibly successful with a number of community members having the opportunity of applying. As such, Rhema Rega Bible Church would like to extend an invitation to the community of South Hills and the surrounding areas to take advantage of the Job Centre. The church is providing this service free of charge to the community in order to combat poverty and unemployment and improve the quality of life of its people,” explained Mkwanazi.

In the long run, the church’s vision is to extend the services of the Job Centre to homework classes and a resource centre for scholars and students in the community, a place where they can get tutoring and guidance on their academic careers.
In order to apply for jobs, the following documents are needed:
Identity document (ID) or passport and matric certificate or report from the highest grade passed.
