THE Women’s Manyano organisation, in conjunction with Methodist Church of South Rand Circuit, hosted a gala lunch at the Recreation Centre in South Hills on November 10.
The purpose of the event was to raise funds for the needs of the church and a soup kitchen, to feed the needy in the community, which operates from the church on a weekly basis.

In attendance was ward 57 councillor Faeeza Chame and deputy speaker of the Gauteng Legislature, Nomantu Nkomo-Relehoko. Chame and Nkomo-Relehoko were invited to give them an opportunity to talk about projects in local and provincial government for the community to note and be part of those projects.
