Traffic circle and bush concerns resident of Robertsham

Bakos says he has been living in the area since the ‘90s and it used to be sparkling clean.

A CONCERNED resident from Robertsham, Collen Bakos, is frustrated with an unkept piece of land with overgrown grass and trees, as well as a traffic circle opposite his house.

Bakos says he has been living in the area since the ‘90s and it used to be sparkling clean. He told COURIER he has lodged several complaints to the ward councillor but nothing has paid off.

“People use the bush to relieve themselves and dump waste resulting in a bad smell. The rats breeding there is also a big concern,” he said.

Bakos also told the COURIER that there used to be a fence which separated the bush in question and N12 highway but it was stolen. “This makes it easier for thugs to steal and cross over the side quickly,” he said.

“It’s unpleasant to see what was good being in ruins. I have been trying to contact ward councillor to assist in this regard. I wish she can come and do something about this,” said Bakos.

Another thorn in his side is the traffic circle which he feels should be dealt with soon before people lose their lives. “Some motorists don’t stop. They just drive through at high speeds endangering others. All that I want is for the councillor to come and see what’s happening and escalate the matter or fix the problems,” added Bakos.

Rashieda Landis, Ward 55 councillor, said, “The circle can’t cause accidents. I have asked JRA to go and investigate. The long grass is on City Parks’ schedule.”
