Believers Care Society invites crèche owners and staff members for free training

A certificate of competence will be issued at the completion of the course to participants who completed and passed the course.

BELIEVERS Care Society (BCS) is inviting owners of early childhood development (ECD) centres or crèches and their staff members to apply for a skills development opportunity.

This initiative will assist them in running their crèches professionally and also receive mentorship, which will ensure that children under their care are well taken care of, especially orphans and vulnerable children. The project is supported by the United States’ President’s Emergency Plan for Aids Relief (PEPFAR).

Crèche owners and their staff will receive an accredited skills training course on FETC: Project management, SAQA ID: 50080. The course is for a duration of four months, attending only twice in a week, which is Fridays from 1pm to 4pm and Saturday from 8am to 12 noon. The duration of the entire project will be for six months, which also includes the mentorship programme.

A certificate of competence will be issued at the completion of the course to participants who completed and passed the course. A certificate of mentorship participation in the Aids Relief Programme will also be issued. Registration is currently in progress and only 40 participants will be accepted, two people per crèche.

Classes will commence on May 3 and they will take place at the development centre at 85 High Street, Turffontein.

This course is completely free of charge. BCS is encouraging the crèches to come forward and take advantage of this rare opportunity, especially those that are non-funded and lack project management skills.

BCS is an accredited provider of the above course through Services-Seta with accreditation number: 6494.

Application and registration is now officially open.

Criteria: one must be a crèche owner or staff member at a registered crèche located in Johannesburg. Proof of crèche registration or letter of employment on the company letterhead for staff members. Copy of ID or permit valid for six months (non-SA citizens), proof of residence, previous qualification and a short CV.
