Should parents support their children in their endeavours?

“As parents, we should love and support our children, but it must be something which will benefit them and not harm them,” said Scholtz.

THE COURIER took to the streets and asked residents if they think it is important for parents to support their children in their endeavours.

This is what they had to say:

RAYMOND SILLIFANT: “It’s very important for parents to support and encourage their little ones. Seeing your parent beside you gives you confidence. I urge parents to support whatever their children do, especially in school activities.”
MAJAWONKE MBATHA: “Support is everything. If you give your child that kind of support, all becomes well. When it’s something like a sports day at school, by being there you make your child feel proud and he/she will know that you have got their back.”
ZANELE SHEZI: “When I was still in school, seeing my parents offering their support encouraged me to continue doing good. I’m a firm believer of parents supporting their children because it has helped me a lot.”
MARI SCHOLTZ: “As parents, we should love and support our children, but it must be something which will benefit them and not harm them.”
