WATCH: Slow down, speed humps on Kimberley Minor Road, Robertsham

A site visit by Joburg Road Agency (JRA) and Ward 55 Clr Rashieda Landis was done and they promised residents the problem will be attended to.

TWO speed humps were recently erected in Kimberley Minor Road, Robertsham, after numerous complaints from the residents in the area.

In April, the COURIER reported on a worrisome traffic circle at the intersection of Kimberley Minor Road and Harry Street.

Motorists used to ignore the traffic circle, which was meant to lower the speed of the vehicles, especially those using Kimberley Minor Road.

A site visit by Joburg Road Agency (JRA) and Ward 55 Clr Rashieda Landis was done and they promised residents the problem will be attended to.

Collen Bakos, one of the residents who have waited three years for these traffic-calming measures to be put in place, thanked all involved in making this a reality.

“The humps are helping a lot now in reducing speeding. It is much safer now, and thank you to the Southern COURIER, it has the power to do these things because I have waited for three years for the humps. The metro always promises, promise, but they never came.

Thank you again, Southern COURIER and Clr Landis,” he said.
