FASHION Meets Music is an event in the south, headlined by youth in the creative sector, that is set to happen on July 27 at Rosettenville Central Primary School from 10am.
One of the organisers, Mathapelo Seoka, said the purpose of the event it to tackle socio-economic factors affecting the youth, specifically crime and poverty.
“We have a huge challenge in Rosettenville, particularly where young girls have turned to prostitution and young boys have turned to substance abuse. Schools have become a place of drugs and weapons.
“We have teamed up with various stakeholders in the community to bring an event that is set to empower, educate and bring back art to the community and to schools. We are calling young creatives to come forward with their craft and showcase to the community at large,” explained Mathapelo.
