WATCH: Three iPop Vehicle Sales employees return R13 000 found in car

Sakhile Hadebe, Vincent Ndebele and Bhekumuzi Ndlovu did the hounarable thing and returned the money they found under the carpet on the driver’s side of the car they were washing after it was serviced.

THREE employees of iPop Vehicle Sales surprised their managers when they returned R13 000 found in a car they were washing after it was serviced.

Sakhile Hadebe, Vincent Ndebele and Bhekumuzi Ndlovu did the hounarable thing and returned the money they found under the carpet on the driver’s side of the car they were washing after it was serviced.

Meyer Benjamin, owner of iPop Vehicle Sales, commended the trio and said in these days there are limited people who will do what they did.

Thanking them in IsiZulu, Benjamin said it was an auspicious day for all of them. He said he was very happy to work with such great people.

“We are very proud of the three, they are reliable, but most of all, honest. Although the owner of the money didn’t give them anything to thank them, we took it upon ourselves to honour them. As a token of appreciation we will give them each a R2 000 SPAR voucher and branded T-shirts with their names in front and ‘I’m proud to be honest’ at the back. They are an inspiration to our fellow staff members,” he said.

Cartrack also gave each a goodie bag and an umbrella just to say thank you.

Sakhile said for them it was work as usual because they are used to finding money and valuables in cars they wash after being serviced.

“Even though we are used to getting money and valuables in cars, we always return them to the manager.

“However, it was the first time we found such a substantial amount. We took it to our superiors for safe return to the owner. We never expected what the management did for us and we really appreciate the good gesture,” he said.

Meyer Benjamin also celebrated his 70th birthday with his staff.

*Bhekumuzi Ndlovu had a family bereavement on the day and he couldn’t attend, however, all his goodies were kept for him.
