SOUTHSIDE FC is looking for sponsorship which will help the team travel to compete in league competitions and also a little help with equipment.
The La Rochelle-based team is one of the respected teams in the area and participates in the Eastern League.
The team consists of three division’s, namely, u-13, u-15 and u-17, with about 40 young boys and girls on their books.
Having stable transport to get them to away games has been a stumbling block.
Southside hopes to participate in the Premier Soccer League one day, but to achieve this they need assistance in getting soccer equipment first.
The team lacks bibs, balls, a kit, boots, nets, mugs, cones, vests and other necessities.
Christopher Regard, the team manager, said they also need a soccer field where they can have proper training.
“We established this team to help aspiring football players to achieve in the industry. We have players from Lawley, South Hills and other areas who need transport to get here. Getting sponsorship will help us reach out to other young players in other areas,” said Regard.
Southside will also be hosting a tournament on October 5 at the corner of 11th Street and Forest Road in La Rochelle.
The tournament will consist of eight teams from different areas. The team will appreciate it if people can assist with sponsoring the tournament.
