Woman killed in Booysens crash

Life lost in bakkie crash.

A 30-YEAR-OLD woman lost her life in the early morning of October 5 when the bakkie she was travelling in crashed into a wall in Booysens.

According to Russel Meiring, ER24 paramedics spokesperson, the bakkie crashed into a wall and large metal post off the M1 northbound in Booysens, claiming the woman’s life.

“ER24, along with the Provincial Fire Services, arrived on the scene at 9.31am to find a bakkie on the side of the road against a small wall. On closer inspection, medics found the body of a woman, lying trapped inside the bakkie. Unfortunately, she had already succumbed to her injuries. Nothing could be done for her and she was declared dead,” said Meiring.

Specialised equipment was used to get the woman’s body out of the vehicle.

Local authorities were on scene to gather information and conduct their investigations.
