Metro Community Support receives R22 500

Community organisation gets a cheque to continue serving the community.

THE Metro Community Support received a cheque of R22 500 from PPC’s Corporate Social Investment (CSI) division on October 11.

Metro Community Support, based in Rispark, is involved in community upliftment and welfare, reaching more than 2 000 children and over 500 elderly people in their feeding scheme programmes.

The organisation goes to different informal settlements to hand out food, clothes and other necessities to the less fortunate.

Master of ceremony for the day was Marisca Habib.

During these drives they are also spreading the word of God to people through the outreach programmes.

PPC’s materials’ business unit head Dave Miles said they believe in supporting organisations which strive to uplift the society.

“Building and nurturing children is what we believe in and so does Metro Community Support. Our partnership will last. As we come together, I believe we will create a good and strong nation,” said Miles.
