Mobile clinic coming to informal settlements

The clinic will operate four days a week (Monday to Thursday).

CITY of Johannesburg Region F Health Department, with MMC Health and Social Services councillor Mpho Phalatse and Anova Health Institute, will launch a mobile clinic on October 28 at George Goch informal settlement.

The mobile clinic is expected to bring health services closer to the community in places such as the Booysens informal settlement in Ward 124 and George Goch informal settlement in Ward 65.

The clinic will operate four days a week (Monday to Thursday). For two days it will be based at Booysens informal settlement and the other two days at George Goch informal settlement.

Services will include HIV counselling and testing (HCT), mother and child health, acute conditions/minor illnesses and chronic conditions (TB, diabetes, etc.) and voluntary HIV counselling and testing (VCT).
