Kenilworth man shocked as eggs turned into plastic

The 28-year-old from Kenilworth said he bought six dozen eggs and he boiled four but what he saw terrified him.

JAHID Babu is not a happy man after he bought eggs which turned into a plastic-like form after boiling them.

The 28-year-old from Kenilworth said he bought six dozen eggs and he boiled four but what he saw terrified him.

“I boiled the eggs the first two were perfectly fine but the other turned into plastic.

“I called my brothers and they were surprised as well. I returned the eggs to the store and they were also surprised,” said Babu.

Babu believes the eggs sold to him are fake and when he spoke with other people regarding the matter they related to his story.

“Some people say in their suburbs, they are also experiencing such things.

“Who can we trust? This really broke my heart because I bought these eggs with my own money and to get fake eggs, it’s just not on,” said Babu.

He told the COURIER he won’t eat eggs again.

“What if next time the eggs claim my life? I can’t put myself in such trauma.

“All I need is answers about the eggs I bought. It could be the supplier, not the store, but I advise people to be careful out there,’’ said Babu.

The eggs which made Jahid Babu cautious of what he buys from now.

The store owners claim they are not at fault as they stock the eggs from a certain supplier. The name was not given to the COURIER.

The COURIER contacted the department of health about the matter but they didn’t reply at the time of going to print.
