Sylvia Govender hosts Christmas lunch for the elderly

The day started with Sylvia Govender officially opening three senior citizens’ clubs, based in Jeppestown, Bertrams and South Hills.

MOTHER Sylvia Community Service (MSCS) hosted a Christmas party for the elderly on November 30 at South Rand Recreation Hall in South Hills.

The day started with Sylvia Govender officially opening three senior citizens’ clubs, based in Jeppestown, Bertrams and South Hills.

These three clubs will see to it that elderly people get necessities and will be under the MSCS club.

On the day, elderly people came in numbers and had snacks and juice as starters and then were treated to a hearty lunch.

Sylvia Govender happy to see elderly people enjoying themselves.

The MSCS, spearheaded by Sylvia Govender, gives elderly people free vegetables, bread and clothes. MSCS also provides wellness programs and health services like blood pressure testing, and, if there is a need, the organisation transports the elderly to the clinic or hospital.
