Drowned man’s body found after 3 days at Wemmerpan Dam

Moffat View SAPS have opened an inquest docket.

The body of a man was found floating in Wemmerpan Dam this morning, February 19.

It is believed the man drowned on Sunday, February 16.

The search and rescue team were at the dam on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday and they couldn’t find the body.

Booysens police communications officer Capt Lorraine van Emmerik said this morning when the divers arrived at the scene where they were diving yesterday, they found a body of a man floating by the jetty.

Moffat View SAPS have opened an inquest docket.

An update will follow as soon as more information is available.
