Golf day at Glenvista Country Club yields R50 000 for Sarkis family

Sarkis family gets support through golf day.

Jorge Martins of Meat World hosted a golf day at Glenvista Country Club to raise much-needed funds for the Sarkis family who were involved in an accident couple of months ago.

The golf day, hosted on February 28, turned out to be perfect despite bad weather that kept on threatening with lightning.

Both George and Anne Sarkis are currently at a rehabilitation facility where they are recovering; however, George graced people with his presence on the day for a while before he had to be taken back to the rehabilitation facility.

One of the event organisers, Lindi Hanna, said the support that people are giving the Sarkis family is amazing. She also mentioned that despite this fund-raiser, the family will still need ongoing financial support.

“The turnout is amazing and people enjoyed themselves. It was fun and worth doing,’’ said Hanna.

The amount raised was R50 000, with some payments still outstanding.

George thanked Martins for arranging such an initiative.
