Two suspects are behind bars after Mondeor SAPS arrested them for a house robbery that took place in David Street, Mondeor on March 9, at about 12.20pm.
The two suspects, between the ages of 36 and 39, entered the premises and threatened the owner of the house. They took jewellery and cellphones.
A description was given of the suspects and the vehicle they were using and two sergeants from Mondeor followed the information which led to the arrest of the two suspects. The vehicle they were using, a white Hyundai Accent, was used in the commission of crime and was recovered in Zola, Soweto.
Station Commander of Mondeor police station, Col JJ Bezuidenhoudt commended the members and further stated criminals have no place in Mondeor. House robberies and hijackings have been a challenge in the past week. A vehicle which was taken in a house robbery which recently occurred in Glenanda was the one which caused a fatal incident in Zola, Soweto. These suspects have also been linked to other crimes committed in the area.
The suspects will appear soon in Booysens Magistrate’s Court.
