WATCH: Glenanda Primary marks 50 years with a day of fun and memories
The school celebrated its golden jubilee with giant inflatables, delicious food and a tribute to the generations who shaped its legacy.
Looking back on its 50-year history, Glenanda Primary School ‘bounced’ into the future when learners, parents, staff and alumni gathered for a fun-filled day to celebrate the school’s 50th birthday.
The milestone event transformed the school grounds into a carnival of colour, with giant bouncing castles, slides and obstacle courses keeping learners entertained for hours.
The entertainment included access to all inflatables, and the event saw hundreds of children take part.
Glenanda Primary principal Graham King said the golden jubilee was more than just a party – it was a tribute to generations of learners and teachers who built the school’s reputation.

“Fifty years is a remarkable milestone for any school. Today was about honouring our past while celebrating the bright energy of our current learners. Seeing them laughing, playing and making new memories reminded us why we do what we do.
“Glenanda Primary has always been about more than just academics. It’s about community, care and creating moments that last a lifetime. We look forward to the next 50 years with the same spirit,” said King.

From the castle-themed bounce house to the massive selection of delicious food available, reflecting the cultures of the community surrounding the school, the atmosphere was one of pure joy.
Parents joined in the celebrations, alumni shared memories, and current learners experienced a school day unlike any other.

The 50th birthday celebration highlighted Glenanda Primary’s role as a cornerstone of the Glenvista community since its founding.
With confetti, balloons and cheers filling the air, the school proved that 50 years of education can still feel like child’s play.
As the last wristband came off and the inflatables deflated, one message was clear: Glenanda Primary’s next chapter starts with the same heart that carried it through the first five decades.
