
Johannesburg Flying Squad members arrested 16 suspects for different crimes in different areas in Johannesburg and recovered one hijacked vehicle.
These arrests took place from May 1 to 4.
Among the 16 suspects arrested four were arrested for contravention of the Disaster Management Act, one for common assault and 11 for possession of drugs. One hijacked vehicle, a gold Hyundai i10, was recovered.
Johannesburg Flying Squad communication officer Raymond Sambo said investigation continues in all cases.
“Working with the community led to these recoveries.
SAPS appreciates the public’s contribution. It should also be noted that for any information regarding the vehicle, you may contact the relevant detective quoting the relevant case number.
“All 16 suspects, aged between 25 and 33, appeared in different magistrate’s courts to face charges of contravention of the Disaster Management Act, common assault and possession of drugs.”
