Lend a helping hand to the Lola Rescue Fund
A year ago Lola the dog was rescued from a drain in Soweto where she was stuck for a few days.
JSPCA inspectors had to remove the drain cover and climb in to rescue her – a rescue mission that took almost two hours before they could get her to safety.
Liana Marx, who handles the public relations, marketing and fundraising for JSPCA said: “She was extremely thin and malnourished. We actually thought she may not make it she was so bad.”We nursed her back to health and madam pulled through. Lola has been adopted by one of our staff members and is now our JSPCA mascot.
“We take her along to events as she loves people and children and is a real crowd puller for us.: To, therefore, celebrate her one year rescue anniversary, as well as her first birthday, we established the Lola Rescue Fund to raise funds for other animals in dire need of help and rescue, just like Lola.
“We have experienced a large number of cruelty cases against animals over the last few weeks. We try and help as many animals as we can but the medical bills for these animals are pilling up,” she said.
If you can lend a helping hand, please make a contribution towards the Lola Rescue Fund.
