Members collect food donations for the needy

They also offered free vision screening to the community during the drive.

Members from Alberton Lions Club held a food collection drive on October 10 at the Bracken City Shopping Centre in Brackenhurst.

“Thank you to the members of the public who so generously supported us. The food collected goes to the many feeding projects the Lions assist with within the Alberton and Johannesburg South areas,” said Tammy du Plooy, president of the Alberton Lions Club.

They also offered free vision screening to the community during the drive.

“Hunger, vision, diabetes, paediatric cancer and the environment are the five major service pillars the Lions members actively participate in,” said Tammy.
