South Rand Hospital screens community

The campaign will continue throughout January, reaching more areas in the catchment area of the hospital.

In response to the second wave of Covid-19, South Rand Hospital has provided outreach and educational programmes.

This occurred during the festive season, the aim being to further enhance Covid-19 awareness to the community.
The areas reached include Rosettenville Shopping Centre, Turffontein SPAR Centre, Shoprite Shopping Centre and Steeledale Mall.

With a rising number of new infections per day, communities in our hospital catchment are encouraged to comply with the lockdown regulations as well as practising social distancing, wearing of face masks and washing hands with soap and water or hand sanitiser.

The campaign will continue throughout January, reaching more areas in the catchment area of the hospital. The outreach programme was also supported by SAPS and Steeledale Mall.

“We are very happy to meet the hospital staff who is screening the community outside of the hospital and we have been waiting for this. We wish they could come back because the infection numbers are increasing,” said Nicholas Berg from Kenilworth.
