SOJO charity golf day successful even with weather delay
The weather stopped play for a short while when a rainstorm moved through the area.

South of Joburg Business and Tourism (SOJO) had its annual charity golf day on November 26 at Eye of Africa Golf Course.
The golf day was held to raise funds for the Ennerdale Children’s Feeding Alliance.
The weather stopped play for a short while when a rainstorm moved through the area, but that did not deter golfers from having a good time and everyone stayed for the prize-giving and the dinner afterwards.
Nicky Vakaloudis, CEO of SOJO, said, “Thank you Eye of Africa for hosting our event. The food was impeccable and the entertainment by Simply For had everyone on the dance floor, refusing to call it a night.

“Our incredible sponsors pulled out all stops and raised the bar this year, sponsoring prizes to the value of R154 968. We were able to give amazing prizes to the top 10 teams, as well as the longest drive and closest to the pin competitions.
“We thank all our sponsors: SFP Succession Financial Planning, Sasol Fortuna Ormonde, Royal Johannesburg and Kensington Golf Club, Turn 1 Insurance, MBS Accounting Services and EEM Marketing, Tiger Consultants-The Alternative Board and Payroll/HR, Restonic Bedding, Thaba Eco Hotel, Sinzinani Spa, Expert Beauty and Wellness, Howden, Mochachos Mall of the South, Absolute Water, Leek Plumbing, PPSA Stainless Steel and Aluminium, Microdx/Versus Paint, Mawele Metal Works.
“And, of course, a huge thank you to our partner Gold Reef City for the stylish Ernie Els golf shirts and caps for all 90 players.

“Our theme, Around the World, was in celebration of the tourism industry, which has suffered immensely during this pandemic and trusting for an incredible come back.
“Gold Reef City’s Rio de Janeiro showgirls selected the top five best dressed and we congratulate the winners for taking part and for being such great sport. Proceeds of the event will be handed over to Ennerdale Children’s Feeding Alliance once a full audit has been completed.

“A very special thank you to Tandi Potgieter from Icarus Media for all the hard work and coordination for our event, as well as to our flamboyant MC, Etienne Cloete, for adding extra zest. Thank you to everyone for making a difference in these children’s lives. Looking forward to seeing you all again at our next year’s event.”
