Crown Gardens’ Anarzade Omar through to the Top 10 of Miss SA

Anarzade is a resident from Crown Gardens that recently made it to the top 10 for Miss SA 2022.

The South is rooting for Anarzade Omar (23) from Crown Gardens who made it to the final 10 of the 2022 Miss SA pageant.

The Comaro CHRONICLE recently caught up with Anarzade to find out what made her decide to enter the pageant and her goals.

Anarzade studied for a BA in Strategic Communication in Marketing from the University of Johannesburg and is currently working as a social media manager at a digital marketing agency.

She also runs a small online sushi business that she launched during the Covid-19 lockdown.

Anarzade said: “It felt amazing when they announced I’m through to the top 10. It almost felt surreal as this was the third time I’ve entered and progressed past the top 30 group of Miss SA. It is now important to keep focus as it is still a long way to go before the winners are crowned on August 13.”

She further said: “The important part of the pageant is how it celebrates women and makes women seen and understood. It allows us to speak up about topics that were taboo in the past – such as poverty, gender-based violence and inequality while celebrating and embracing the sisterhood that comes along with it.”

For Anarzade her family is very important and has been there for her every time she entered the pageant before.

“My family has been there since day one and has supported me through everything. They have dried my tears from the previous disappointments and now they get to celebrate the achievement with me as well,” said Anarzade.

Anarzade is proud of being from Johannesburg and is also very community-orientated with her volunteering, donating and participating in various women’s empowerment workshops when she has time.

Anarzade Omar (23) from Crown Gardens has made it to the final 10 of the 2022 Miss SA pageant.
