WATCH: Landis and city entities tackle illegal connections
City Power cut illegal connections in Tully Street on August 4.
Ward 55 Clr Rashieda Landis and City of Joburg entities returned to De Villiers and Tully streets on August 4 on their follow-up operation to cut illegal electricity connections.
They were there on July 6 and promised to come back to check that people comply.
“On my follow-up operation of last month, we went to Tully Street, where we carried on with disconnection of illegal connections. “Accompanying me were JMPD, City Power and Citizen Relationship and Urban Management. I’m determined to carry on until I’m satisfied with this block. We are doing block by block.
“We inspected 14 houses where six were disconnected, on one we found a burnt meter, while seven houses were above board,” she said.
