SANBS encourages the spirit of building the nation’s heritage

Share the gift of life and become a member of the SANBS family of donors. One donation can potentially save three lives.

As the South African National Blood Service (SANBS) celebrates Heritage Day this year, it reminisces on the kind contributions of donors who help create the narratives that define our heritage.

Heritage Day this year coincides with SANBS’ 21st anniversary.

SANBU CEO, Ravi Reddy, said the legacy of SANBS is deeply rooted in its well-deserved standing as a reputable expert in blood transfusion services globally. Regular blood donors are essential to SANBS success; without them, this rich legacy would not exist.

“It has been a 21-year journey of challenges and triumphs, but at the heart of it is our donors who are dedicated to altruistically giving their time and lifesaving blood to those who need it,” Ravi affirmed.

SANBS encourages everyone to set aside some time on this Heritage Day to unite in celebration of the one thing that unites us all: blood.

Beyond being proud of our cultural heritage, embracing our heritage involves honouring the diverse South African population.

“While you consider your unique celebration of Heritage Day this year, make time for an act of kindness and help SANBS to sustain one of our country’s most treasured resources, our nation’s blood supply,” Ravi concluded.
