Kromvlei’s cemetery state leaves residents emotionally worn-out
The Alberton Record has sent a query to the relevant department regarding Kromvlei's cemetery conditions.

Alberton residents are more and more concerned about the state of Kromvlei Cemetery.
One of the residents who complained said the gravesites were in a horrible condition because of the site’s overgrown grass and stone piles all over it.
Additionally, it was claimed that visiting loved ones and deciding where to go was too emotionally draining.
When The Alberton Record visited the cemetery to assess its condition, it was welcomed by the Kromvlei Cemetery’s excessively long grass, which had supposedly not been mowed since the Alberton Record’s last visit on May 30.
According to an anonymous source, the reason behind the long uncut grass is that they have stolen the lawn mower from the cemetery grounds, reportedly for the third time.
“The place is dangerous. You can see how bad the gravesite looks. This alone contributes to the place being dangerous,” said the source.
The city’s relevant department has been contacted by the Alberton Record. Once a response has been received, a new update will be given.
