Man arrested for gate motor theft in Alberton

A man was detained in Alberton for stealing a gate motor.

CPS Security arrested a man in Douwn Street, Verwoerdpark, for gate motor theft on April 3.

According to the director of CPS Security, Tyrone van der Merwe, a CPS client reported seeing an unknown person removing the anti-theft component from a gate motor at a nearby church, and he sent in a panic signal.

“Our reaction stood off within minutes of the activation and noticed the suspect running away from the entrance and jumping over the perimeter fence,” said van der Merwe.
