Brackenhurst racers hit the track, finishing well

Brackenhurst motorsport lovers, Bruce van Niekerk and Blane de Meilon did exceptionally well in race recently held in Zwartkops Raceway in Pretoria.

Bruce van Niekerk, a driver of an Omega Formula Vee racing car who competes in the Gauteng Formula Libre category, recently raced at Zwartkops in Pretoria.

He finished third in Class E, with another Brackenhurst racer, Blane de Meilon, finishing second.

At the end of the day, he said it was a very successful day and that they are looking forward to their next outing at Red Star near Delmas on June 10.

“As of the class cut-off times, both Blane and I were promoted to Class D, where we again finished second and third respectively. The race was amazing and super exciting, towards the end I was up against a celebrity, ‘Early B’, who was also entered in the race,” explained van Niekerk.

Van Niekerk previously came third in the first round at Zwartkops Raceway in February and second in the second round at Red Star in March.

He said he was looking forward to his next race and extended his gratitude to all those who continued to show their support.

“I would like to thank TSG and Advanced Lighting Systems, as well as family and friends also continually showering their unwavering support,” Van Niekerk said.
