15 years direct imprisonment for murder suspect

The suspect was sentenced to 15 years of direct imprisonment for murder and possession of an unlicensed firearm.

An on-duty Booysens SAPS police officer received a complaint about a murder in Ophirton On December 1, 2021.

SAPS members went to the scene where they found a witness who pointed out the deceased.

They gave the docket to Sergeant Mulalo Ramashia to investigate, which resulted in an arrest. They linked the suspect to another case at Booysens SAPS for having an unlicensed firearm in his possession.

After investigation and collection of evidence, the docket went to court, where the suspect received a sentence of 15 years of direct imprisonment.
