Johannesburg Flying Squad members arrested six suspects in the Johannesburg area and recovered one unlicensed firearm and three stolen vehicles between July 28 and 31.
Three were arrested for the possession of suspected stolen property and three for possession of an unlicensed firearm.
A 9mm CZ 75 firearm with the number filed off was booked at the Florida SAPS.
A blue BMW hijacked from the owner, a stolen white Toyota Fortuner and a stolen silver Dodge were recovered.
Johannesburg Flying Squad communication officer Raymond Sambo said investigations continue in all cases, and working with the community led to these recoveries.
“The SAPS appreciates the public for their contribution. For any information regarding the vehicles, one can contact the relevant detective and quote the case number.
“Six suspects aged between 20 and 27 appeared at various magistrate’s courts facing charges of possession of suspected stolen property and possession of unlicensed firearm,” he said.
