Bracken Library celebrates Women’s Day
To celebrate Women’s Day, ladies, young and old, gathered at Bracken Library.
It was all about women from the word ‘go’ at Bracken Library’s Women’s Day talk on August 4.
Guest speakers Livia Whitecomb from the Raw Foundation, Koketso Sekhu from the Commission for Gender Equality and author and trauma counsellor Zandile Nkabinde spoke about women’s rights, mental health, mentorship and overcoming life challenges.
Girl learners from Glenbrack High School and Revival City College shared their views about Women’s Day and how they defined a woman.

Habibi Properties sponsored the event with mentorship and goody bags. Two lucky ladies walked away with a nail and beauty voucher from Adele and a hair-at-home voucher from Dotti.
“We, as the Bracken Library, express our gratitude to the guest speakers, the schools and the public, especially the ladies, for coming to the Women’s Day event. Their attendance made a difference and contributed to the event’s success. To those behind the scenes who worked hard to make the event successful, thank you. The involvement of the sponsors is acknowledged and appreciated,” said Bracken Library staff member Kgahlisho Chuene.
